Caritas Vrhbosanske Nadbiskupije is a relief, development and social service organisation operating in Central and Nord – East part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Client looked for website redesign and together with IT expert chose to create WordPress site. My task was to find the best visual solution for the web page.

Since Caritas logo leaves a positive and warm impression, I’ve put it in the focus of the design. My intention was to create unique pattern for the background of the website and therefore experimented with the logo. At the end I came to the solution that one pattern tile is modified Caritas logo: the cross is white / negative space which can be recognised by position of 4 groups of outlined waved rectangles. That kind of logo usage fitted beautifully as background pattern.

Dominant color of the website is white with red details on it. Thumb photos are made black - white not to draw too much attention. Red color draws focus and keep viewers’ interest. It leads viewer to all site sections. Warmth, kindness and welfare are reinforced by cover photo that shows child hand stretching to a hand of a grown up.

The site was online in the period of February 2016 until February 2017.
